Don MacDonald, following a successful Presidency of Helensburgh Lions Club, hands over the chain of office to the new President Tom Dunn, a retired manager at IBM. Don wished Tom every success for the coming year which is the Centenary of the founding of Lions International.
Tom is one of the longest serving members of the Club, joining in 1977 and this will be the third time he has led the club.
Tom thanked Don for his efforts over the year particularly his organisation of the Charity Golf day. Tom reflected on the contribution made to the Club by long term member Geoff Brewster who recently passed away. Geoff was one of the founders of the Golf Day which he organised for 25 years, the event flourished to become a fixture in many golfers calendar. He was very active in the Club, and was twice the President, his operation of the projector at Race Nights became legendary. He will be very much missed by the members and the wider community.
